Mysteries Of The Kingdom

The mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are revealed to you, but they are not revealed to them. For anyone who has will be given more, and he will more than enough; but for anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” (Matthew 13:11-13)

Jesus was talking with his disciples and telling them how blessed they were in being able to grasp the mysteries of his kingdom. The reason that the kingdom of God presents us with unsearchable riches is the fact that it contains many mysteries. I pray that all of us will have an unquenchable thirst to know more and more of the unending mysteries of this great kingdom that we have been birthed into.

“I became the servant of the Church when God made me responsible for delivering God’s message to you, the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed to his saints. It was God’s purpose to reveal it to them and to show all the rich glory of this mystery to the Gentiles. The mystery is Christ among you, your hope of Glory.” (Colossians 1:25-27)

When Ruby and I opened our little mini golf in Ariel and the youngsters began coming in we learned our first Hebrew word which was “mime” which means water in English. Over the past five years we have given out thousands of cups of “mime” to the folks in Ariel and this past fall the Lord spoke to me about a mystery of his kingdom in regards to our doing this simple task of giving a drink of water to those that were thirsty in His Name.

Amazingly we find Jesus drinking natural water with the Samaritan woman and then giving her Living water that satisfied her eternal thirst. Yes, this is truly a great mystery of his kingdom that if we have ears to hear what the Spirit of God is saying we can understand a little more of the operation of this kingdom on a daily basis. The Lord is in the process of calling home these people from around the world and we have the privilege of helping to cleanse them with his water.

“Then I am going to take you from among the nations and gather you together from all the foreign countries, and bring you home to your own land. I shall pour clean water over you and you will be cleansed; I shall cleanse you of all your defilement and all your idols. I shall give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you.” (Ezekiel 36:24-27)

One of the many miracles that we have observed since arriving in Ariel is the changing of the hearts of the young people that have chosen to hang out at the mini golf. We did not know and the locals did not tell us about the ones who began hanging out, but the simple truth of the matter is that God put in the hearts of these kids to come our way. We discovered that the most troublesome kids ended up at our doorstep and they are as amazed as we are of what has taken place in the hearts of these kids in the past few years. Our God is truly an awesome God.

The big question is this. Can a little water given in the mighty name of Jesus have an impact on a heart that is really hardened? Aren’t we thankful that we don’t have all the answers to the working of this mysterious kingdom? Yes, we are to trust and obey, for He tells us that there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Glory!

They called from Ariel yesterday and told me that a group of school children in Israel wants us to give them a price of furnishing 20,000 pouches of water from the Mt. of Blessing as a fund raising project. Glory! Is our God awesome or what? Please pray with us about all of this. If you desire to be a part of this project with your pocket books along with your prayers it will be a blessing both to us and them and to you. If you have ever had a desire to give the Lord Jesus a drink of water, here is your opportunity.

“For whosoever shall give a drink of water in my name, because you belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, you shall not lose your reward.” (Mark 9:41)

Ruby and I will be returning to Israel in two weeks and our invitation is still open for you to drop by for a cup of coffee and a drink of water. You might be able to help us to fill a few pouches of water while you are in town. Glory! Blessings, Homer Owen
